The Trade Show

If I keep having trouble sleeping I may be blogging more than I thought.

We had a trade show this weekend at the Idaho center and today was my day to cover it. So I got a cup of good ol chevron coffee and headed over the hill, by the time I got there I was pretty revved up because I bought the "extreme caffeine" coffee. As I rolled into the parking lot 15 minutes after the show was supposed to start (I always like to show up to trade shows late because they have all kinds of threats about punishing you for unmanned booths and tearing down early, so I always try to tear down early and leave my booth unmanned as much as possible. I mostly want to see if they are going to try kick us out of a show that we pay $$$ to be in, as of yet they have not even warned us so I will keep trying) Anyway, I rolled into the parking lot 15 minutes late and there was like 2 cars in the whole parking lot, my first thought was
"Holy Crap! everybody in the whole trade show is late today"
My second thought was
"was I supposed to go to the Idaho center or Expo Idaho".
I ruled out the latter pretty quickly because I had helped set the booth of 2 days before and I was pretty sure this was the same place. So the only other option was all of the other 100 exhibitors were late......but wait.... maybe I should check the schedule my secretary had given me for the show and see what time it starts.
Every show we do Kate gives me a information packet that has all the details for that show in it, she puts it a nice folder with a label "Canyon County Home show" for example. And every show we do I lose that folder, (the last show she gave me 2 folders and I lost them both) it is a little ritual we have. So I was looking through my bag not finding the info packet and lo and behold I find a info for the last show we did, which does me no good at all. Then I remember not only does she give me a info packet she always emails the schedule to me at least twice sometime three times. So I get out the lappy and fire it up. As soon as I get logged in I notice that I am picking up wireless from the hotel next to me so I check my email and go to a few other sites that I frequent and waste about 10 minutes doing nothing. Still nobody in the parking lot
I finally get outlook opened and find the schedule and sure enough the show doesnt' start until 11:00,

the end

I did show up 15 min late (the second time) and started tearing down my booth 45 minutes early and still now warning from the trade show police.
